Warm Homes Fund

The Warm Homes Fund is a National Grid initiative which installs first-time gas central heating systems in Leicester city properties. The scheme is for home owners and private renting tenants. The application window for the Warm Homes Fund has now closed. No new applications will be accepted.

What is the Warm Homes Fund?

The aim of this initiative is to deliver fully-funded first-time gas central heating systems to eligible homes across Leicester.

Homes that do not have gas central heating, could get connected to the gas mains, if needed, and have a gas central heating system installed for free.

Switching from electric heating to gas central heating can save households up to £350 each year on their annual fuel bill.

To deliver this scheme we are working in partnership with E.ON and City Energy. You do not need to be an E.ON customer to benefit from this scheme.

The £150m fund has been established by National Grid to support local authorities to address some of the issues affecting fuel poor households. Other funding for the initiative has been provided from public sector partners.

Homes qualify for the Warm Homes Fund if they are in Leicester city and the main source of heating is not gas.

This scheme is not taking any more applications. There might be other schemes to assist you. Please visit our Energy Efficiency page for more information.
