Cyber incident

Information and updates about the cyber incident affecting Leicester City Council.

On Thursday 7 March we became aware that we had become the subject of a cyber incident. We are now in recovery and our staff and systems are back on line.

However we now know that the ransomware group involved have published data online.

We continue to work with Leicestershire Police and the National Cyber Security Agency as part of the criminal investigations and have notified the Information Commissioner. 

We are not able to say when investigations will be complete and we will provide updates in due course.
