One man’s battle to get the Bible into English, for everyone – a talk by Paul Linnell.
2025 is the 500th anniversary of the first printing of the Bible in English. In 1525, even quoting a verse of the Bible in English was illegal and punishable by torture or death. While the Renaissance and Reformation raged in Europe, one Englishman gave his life’s work, and ultimately his life, to bring into the hands of the ordinary person the book that was to transform the nation.
