Tips to maintain good water quality and hygiene for tenants.
To maintain good water quality and hygiene, it is recommended that the following safety precautions take place for benefit of all those in your household:
- Run the showers and taps for 5 minutes following a period of non-use (i.e. after a period of absence or none use).
- Keep all shower heads and taps clean and free from a build-up of lime scale, mould or algae growth.
- If the hot or cold taps do not seem to be at the right temperature, let us know.
- Disconnect and drain hosepipes after use and keep out of direct
- Run the connecting tap through for a couple of minutes before filling paddling pools etc.
- Report any deposits (for example rust, unusual matter or discolouration) flowing from your water outlets.
- If you are thinking of carrying out any plumbing alterations (for example heating systems, showers, washing machines, outside taps ) you MUST ask Leicester City Council for permission before any work is carried out.
