Below are examples of the different types of H marking which may apply to you depending on your circumstances.

A H marking is painted on the road and will cover the extent of your dropped kerb from the top of each dropper (slopping kerb).

Where old style kerbs are present, radius or straight without the slopping kerb, it will be painted across your dropped kerb and 900mm maximum each side.

If your dropped kerb is shared with a neighbouring property, only the property submitting the application will be marked out, it will be painted within property boundary with a tab.

If there are no droppers, the H marking will be marked covering just the access to your driveway, hard standing area, or garage. If it is a narrow driveway, the minimum width to meet the criteria is 2.4 metres; it will be painted to a width up to 4.8 metres within your property boundary
