Active Leicester admissions policy
The below is the admissions policy effective from 1 July 2024.
- Accompaniment of Children: A parent or responsible adult (over 16) must accompany children under 8 in the water. One adult may supervise up to two children under 8.
- Changing Room Access: Children under 8 may use the changing room of the opposite gender.
- Swimming Ability: Non-swimmers must stay within specified areas of the main pool. Non-swimmers are defined as individuals unable to swim 25 meters unaided and tread water for 30 seconds.
- Swimwear: Inappropriate swimwear or suits finishing below the knee are not allowed unless they are tight-fitting and pose no safety risk.
- Lifeguard Instructions: Always follow lifeguard instructions while in the facility.
- Prohibited Equipment: Diving masks, snorkels, and flippers are not permitted.
- Use of Cameras: Use of cameras and video equipment is prohibited without prior permission from the manager on duty.
- Right of Admission: The centre management reserves the right to refuse admission to any individual.
- Behavioural Standards: Violence or aggressive behaviour towards staff or other patrons will not be tolerated.
- Health Guidelines: Customers who have experienced sickness or diarrhoea should refrain from swimming until symptom-free for 48 hours.
- Swim Nappies: Children not yet toilet trained must wear swim nappies.
- Health Conditions: Inform staff of any medical conditions that may pose a risk before using the pool.
- Supervision Responsibility: You are responsible for your own safety and that of your children. Supervise children both in the pool and throughout the facility.
- Pool Hygiene: Shower before and after swimming to maintain pool hygiene standards.
- Supervision at Leicester Leys Leisure Centre: Children aged 8-10 must have adult supervision on poolside at all times due to the nature of this leisure facility.
