Knighton Spinney nature trail
Follow the path clockwise to find all 10 posts in the nature trail. Each post has an activity for children and a brass rubbing plate, as well as a QR code linking to more information about the Spinney.
As you follow the trail you will learn about the plants and animals that live here, and why the Spinney is such a special place.
The biggest trees in the spinney are Oak and Ash. Oak trees were planted here around 200 years ago, although we know there has been woodland here for much longer. Oak plantations like this were intended to be cut and used as timber, but these ones were never cut. Now they are protected as an important woodland habitat.
