POST ENTRY QUALIFICATION TRAINING SCHEME
The detailed provisions of the Local Scheme of Post-Entry Qualification Training will apply. Form TR2 should be used when making an application. See Appendix G.
2.2 SHORT COURSES
Directors may send employees on short courses. The cost and duration of the course will be considered in each case, although no arbitrary limit will be universally applied. Form TR3 should be used, and details entered on to the Human Resources Record System.
To ensure that apprentices acquire a basic tool kit of good quality early in their training, loan facilities are available on the following conditions:-
(a) The trainee must have satisfactorily completed the probationary period of service.
(b) Deductions will be made from pay over a maximum period of twelve months.
(c) If the trainee leaves the Council's service before completing the repayments, the amount owed may be recovered by the Council.
(d) Only a basic tool kit may be purchased.
