Household Waste

Refuse bin
Waste collection is a major service provided by the council to every household in the City of Leicester.  This service is undertaken on behalf of the council by a private contractor, Biffa Leicester.

Kerbside recycling and residual waste is collected weekly from over 120,000 dwellings across the city, collectively generating approximately 145,000 tonnes of domestic waste a year with each household producing, on average 1.15 tonnes.

The Biffa Leicester website provides information on refuse collection days by street*.
