What do the sessions include?
The next workshops will be running from 17 to 21 February 2025:
- carpentry
- painting and decorating
- plumbing
- tiling
All workshops are taught by our qualified female operatives within our housing team. The sessions allow women to learn new skills in an encouraging environment and aim to inspire women to apply for our trade apprenticeship scheme.
Every year, we work in partnership with Leicester College to promote the free course for women in construction. The college allows us to take over the construction department where our qualified trade’s women teach the courses. This is a joint effort to encourage more women into the construction industry.

Visits to schools and community centres
We are working with local schools and communities to help inform women about the diverse roles on offer on our apprenticeship programme.
A team of qualified tradeswomen is available to visit your school or community centre to discuss the programme, and give a presentation and demonstration to teachers, career advisors and young female students.
To arrange a visit by craftswomen to your school please use the contact details below to get in touch.
