Homelessness

We are committed to ensure no-one sleeping rough has to spend a second night on the streets.

Your rights if homeless
If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness, you have certain rights. We can help those that meet the legal criteria.

Homelessness Reduction Act - what it means for you
From 3 April 2018, all councils have extra duties to help all eligible people who are homeless, or threatened with homelessness in the near future.

Duty to refer

The duty to refer requires certain named public authorities in England to notify a local housing authority, such as Leicester City Council, of service users they think may be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Please use the Homelessness Reduction Act Referral Form to notify us of such cases, so we can provide the appropriate support to the household.
